Why Does it Matter What Your Values Are?

If you want your brand to be effective, it matters what you value. If you want to attract the right people to your business, it matters what you value. Aren't all values good? Sure they are, in fact when you see the list, you might find it really hard to pick which ones you think are most important. Here's the key: Just because you don't pick one of the values on the list, does NOT mean you think it isn't important.

For example, kindness.

Kindness is so important. I really value kindness, I appreciate it when it is shown to me and I try to show kindness as often as I can.

It does not make my top 5 values. Gasp!

You may not know this, but we are all DIFFERENT. We have different experiences, different opinions and we see the world through a different set of lenses. I can't see what you see. You interpret things differently from me. That's awesome!

If you want to have an effective personal brand, you need to know your values, and lead with them. In fact you need to make sure they are embedded in every facet of your business. What you'll be left with is a business that makes you proud, that you truly believe in and if you truly believe it, others will too.
