Let’s talk funnels—but don’t worry, I’m not going to throw a bunch of marketing jargon at you and then tell you to go spend $1,000 on Facebook ads. Nope.
This post is all about how to build a simple, client-getting funnel when you're just starting out, don’t have a big audience yet, and want to keep it as easy and fun as possible.
Yes, it's totally possible. I’ve done it. And you can too.
Wait… What Is a Funnel, Anyway?
Let’s break it down like we’re explaining it to a 12-year-old (because honestly, that’s how I like to learn too).
A funnel is just a fancy way of saying:
👉 Step-by-step path that guides people from “I just found you”
➡️ to “Ooo I like you”
➡️ to “Okay take my money!”
➡️ to “Ooo I like you”
➡️ to “Okay take my money!”
That’s it.
It’s not about having a million followers or running ads. It’s about creating smart, helpful steps that naturally build trust and guide people toward working with you.
Here’s What a No-Ads, No-Audience Funnel Can Look Like:
✅ Step 1: Create a Super Specific Freebie (Lead Magnet)
Your funnel starts by helping someone with a tiny but real problem they’re facing right now.
Think:
🎁 A checklist,
🎁 A mini-guide,
🎁 A 3-day challenge,
🎁 A tutorial video,
🎁 A script/template...

🎁 A mini-guide,
🎁 A 3-day challenge,
🎁 A tutorial video,
🎁 A script/template...
Example:
If you're a mindset coach for overwhelmed moms, your freebie could be:
🧘♀️ “5-Minute Morning Reset: A Mini Routine to Start Your Day Calm (Even if Your Kids Are Climbing the Walls)”

The key is to solve one small pain point—and make them think, “YES, this is exactly what I needed!”
🎯 Tip: Use a tool like AttractWell to create your opt-in page, deliver your freebie, and grow your email list all in one place (without needing 5 logins and a tech degree).
✅ Step 2: Follow Up with Value-Packed Emails
Once someone downloads your freebie, don’t ghost them! This is your chance to build a relationship.
Send a few emails that:
- Say hi + tell your story
- Share a quick win or tip
- Show you understand their struggles
- Offer more support (your paid offer or a call)
Example Email Sequence:
- Welcome + deliver the freebie
- “Here’s how I used this in real life” (short story or client win)
- Tip or truth bomb related to their struggle
- Intro to your offer (“Want help doing this faster?”)
You’re not being salesy—you’re just showing up, serving, and inviting.
✅ Step 3: Share Your Freebie (Everywhere)
You don’t need ads—you need visibility.
Here are non-spammy ways to share your lead magnet and bring people into your funnel:
- ✅ Put it in your Instagram bio
- ✅ Share about it on Stories (tell the why)
- ✅ Create a carousel post breaking down one quick tip from it
- ✅ Mention it in Facebook groups where your people hang out (when appropriate!)
- ✅ Add it to the end of your blog posts
- ✅ Pin it on Pinterest
- ✅ Include it in your email signature
- ✅ Post about it weekly with a different angle (results, story, sneak peek, etc.)
Example Promo Post:
“Real talk—I created this guide because I used to be the queen of burnout. If you’re tired of doing all the things and still not seeing progress, download this free checklist and make your next week 10x smoother 💛 [link]”

✅ Step 4: Have a Clear “Next Step” Offer
Now that people are in your world and loving your free content, what’s next?
Make sure you have a clear paid offer or call to action, like:
- “Book a free clarity call”
- “Join my 4-week program”
- “Snag this mini course for $27”
- “Get a 1:1 strategy session”
You don’t need to wait until you have 1,000 people on your list to sell.
Even if you have 10 subscribers—those are real humans! Serve them well.

✅ Step 5: Rinse & Repeat What’s Working
Pay attention to:
- What kind of content gets the most clicks
- Which emails people reply to
- What questions people ask you
- What type of content leads to DMs or conversations
Then… do more of that. That’s how you refine your funnel without wasting time or money.
Let’s Recap – Your Funnel Without Ads or a Big List:
- Create a freebie that solves one specific problem
- Set up a simple opt-in page and email follow-up (use AttractWell to make it easy)
- Share your freebie everywhere—socials, groups, bio, posts
- Have a clear offer and make it easy to take the next step
- Track what’s working and keep showing up
You Don’t Need a Giant Audience—You Just Need to Care
Funnels don’t have to be complicated. You don’t need ads, and you definitely don’t need a fancy sales team.
You just need a heart to help, a little consistency, and a system that guides people from “new friend” to “happy client.”

Start simple. Serve well. The clients will come.
