How I Built My Business From Scratch Without Hiring Anyone
When I first started building my business, I had no team, no coach, and honestly… no idea what I was doing.
I didn’t have a big following.
I didn’t have a ton of money.
I just had a laptop, a big dream, and a deep desire to create something that could actually help people.
If you’re in that place right now—feeling like you’re trying all the things but nothing’s really working—I see you. That was me, too.
And I want to share how I went from trying everything (and feeling totally overwhelmed) to creating a business I love, with clients I adore, and doing work that actually lights me up. All without hiring a single person.

I Tried a Lot of Things That Didn’t Work

When I started out, I thought success meant doing what all the “big names” were doing.
So I tried:
  • Funnels that went nowhere
  • Facebook and Instagram ads that ate my money
  • Live webinars that no one really showed up to
  • Changing my niche (again and again) hoping this would be the thing
Spoiler alert: None of those things really worked.
At least not how I expected them to. And definitely not overnight.
But every “flop” taught me something. Every detour helped me figure out what actually fit me.

I Realized My Superpower Was in Creativity (Not Just Strategy)

Through all the trial and error, I started to notice something…
loved creating. Designing. Making things look and feel beautiful.
And I had a knack for helping people who felt totally overwhelmed by the tech stuff.
It wasn’t about having the “perfect funnel”—it was about making things simple, helpful, and human.
That’s when things started to shift.

I Learned How to Create Offers That People Actually Needed

Instead of guessing what to sell, I started listening:
  • What were people asking me for help with?
  • What problems were they venting about?
  • What tools or shortcuts had I figured out that could help?
I stopped trying to sell what I thought people needed, and started creating offers based on what they actually asked for.
That made a huge difference.

I Learned to Attract the Right People (With SEO + Social Media)

Once I got clear on what I offered and who it was for, I started using simple tools to get found:
✨ SEO (Search Engine Optimization):
I learned how to use keywords and blog posts to get discovered on Google—even with a small site.
📱 Social Media:
I focused less on going viral and more on creating helpful, authentic content that connected with the right people.

I Used Testimonials to Build Trust

As I worked with clients, I made a point to collect kind words and feedback. Then I used those testimonials on my website and social media.
I didn’t need a huge portfolio—I just needed real stories from people I’d helped.
That built trust and showed future clients what it was like to work with me.

I Improved My Copywriting (So My Offers Made Sense!)

At first, I struggled to explain what I actually did. I’d write pages of content that sounded nice… but didn’t get results.
So I studied how to write clearly and confidently. I learned to:
  • Talk like a human
  • Focus on the problem and the transformation
  • Make my copy feel like a conversation
This helped people actually understand what I did—and say YES to working with me.

I Started Using ChatGPT to Save Time

One of my favorite game-changers?
👉 ChatGPT.
It helped me:
  • Brainstorm ideas
  • Write outlines and captions
  • Draft blog posts and emails
  • Save HOURS every week
If you’re building your business solo, using tools like ChatGPT can seriously lighten your load.

I Learned to Fail, So I Could Get Better

Not everything I tried worked. Honestly, most of it didn’t the first time.
But I stopped seeing failure as a sign to quit—and started seeing it as feedback.
If something didn’t work, I asked:
  • What can I learn from this?
  • What might I tweak next time?
  • Is this aligned with where I want to go?
Each “fail” made me better, smarter, and more resilient.

I Tracked My Progress (So I Could Focus on What Actually Worked)

This one took me a while to learn, but it’s so worth it:
📊 I started tracking things.
  • What content was getting the most views?
  • What offers were converting?
  • What platforms were sending me the most traffic?
When I saw what was working, I did more of it.
When something wasn’t working, I gave myself permission to let it go.
No more wasting time on stuff that didn’t serve me.

You Don’t Need a Team to Build Something Beautiful

You don’t need to hire a whole team to be successful. You need:
  • The willingness to try
  • The courage to pivot
  • The patience to keep going
  • The belief that you can figure things out
If I can do it—with zero experience, no big audience, and a LOT of trial and error—you absolutely can too.
You already have what it takes. Your path might not look like anyone else’s… and that’s a good thing.

So keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep creating.
Your dream clients are out there—and they’re looking for exactly what you bring to the table.
And if you ever need someone to help you build your brand or your website from scratch? I’m just a message away. 💛
